Rapid, Localised Temperature Measurment

A highly accurate temperature measuring device used in extreme temperature surgery procedures to help preserve healthy tissue

Diagram illustrating TMS multi temp sensor

The TMS Multi temp probe was the first probe to be developed by InvivoSense using the platform technology of biophysics and fibre optics. TMS detects temperature changes from -100 to 130 degrees centigrade. This is particularly useful during thermal cancer treatment where the tumour cells are killed by either freezing or heating.

It is placed into position using a flexible insertion needle guided by cryotherapy catheters and radio frequency. Multiple measurements can be taken, quickly and accurately.

The TMS multi temp can also be used during MRI and radio frequency procedures, as it is immune to electro magnetic interference.

The product was successfully demonstrated in a trial of 50 patients at the Radium Hospital, Oslo. It was CE marked in 2003.
